Trichy

Tiruchirappalli (also called Tiruchi or Trichy) is an ancient city in India's southern Tamil Nadu state—one of the oldest inhabited cities in India, dating back to the third century BC.

Trichy is home to sacred Hindu sites including Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, with intricately carved gopurams (towering, stone gateways), and Jambukeswarar-Akilandeswari Temple, dedicated to the god Shiva.

Trichy was one of my favorite places I’ve photographed, but more notable were the relationships that blossomed during my time in Tamil Nadu.

Humans have a tremendous capacity for goodness. Of course, there are two sides of the coin—but I hope we don’t lose sight of that inherent capability as we fight the darkness.
